Reflection Questions
-What techniques did you learn while creating your slab box project? Mention at least two.
I learned how to make slabs, and I learned different techniques to make sure that the slabs stayed together when they are attached. One of these is where you roll out a small coil and put it on the seam of two slabs for added strength.
-To a new ceramicist, what are three suggestions you'd give them to improve their slab making technique?
1. Make sure slabs are not too dry.
2. Measure things out before hand.
3. Make sure slabs are properly connected with thin coils on the seams.
-Where did you source inspiration for your slab box? (I don't know is not an acceptable answer.)
I used the images that I researched online as well as different ceramics projects throughout the room.
-What do you think you did especially well on in your slab box project?
I think I did a good job at connecting and smoothing the slabs to make a final product that looked nice.
-What aspect of your slab box project could you improve on?
The measuring of the lid since it looks a bit curved since it was too long.
-How do you plan on using your slab box?
As a decoration.
